Top 3 Best female Hockey Players

       Top 3 Female Hockey Players

To start off, the first best female hockey player is Sarah Nurse. Sarah is becoming a big face in social media for female hockey nowadays. She sits on the board of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association. Sarah was also the first women’s hockey player to appear on the cover of NHL 23. Along with all of her success off ice, she has so much success on ice. Sarah is an unselfish player and she puts her teammates before her. She has great hockey sense and always thinks before she makes a play. Her head is always up and scanning the ice. You can’t get much better than that. Well, maybe you can. In 2018 she represented Canada in the Winter Olympic Games, she then won a silver medal. She also competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics where Canada beat USA 3-2 in the gold medal match. As medals and winning aren’t everything, it sure is a pretty big accomplishment.

T
he next best female hockey player is Hayley Wickenheiser. She is a Canadian former hockey player, now a resident physician and assistant general manager for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Hayley is a four-time Canadian Olympic gold Medalist, she competed in 12 world championships and took home 7 gold medals. Hayley is Canada’s all-time leader in international goals (168), assists (211), and points (379).   Hayley has done so many great things and I even believe there will be way more to come. As Hayley was an incredible overall player, her slap shot was one of the best in the women’s game. Hayley could put the puck in the net, but also make plays. Her hockey IQ was incredible. She always knew where to be, and when to be there. Hayley wasn’t scared to get in the corners and get physical, she used her body to her advantage. That’s something some female players struggle with doing.

Now this one may be a surprise, she is still an up and coming player. Sarah Fillier is only 22 years old, she attends Princeton University in New Jersey and she has the potential to be one of the best female players in the game. Sarah is so smart with the puck, it seems as she always knows the right play. She knows what pass to make or to take the shot instead. Sarah is a team player and will put anyone before her, giving her teammates a goal is way more important than getting herself a goal. She has no selfishness on the ice and it shows. Sarah also competed with Team Canada in Beijing at the 2022 Olympic Games where she helped them take home the gold medal. She scored 8 goals to rank 2nd in tournament goal scoring. Sarah also plays collegiately at Princeton, with her twin sister. When she’s not playing with Team Canada, she is still having a ton of fun. Just give her a few years, her name will be everywhere.
